Senior Java Developer

Locations: Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax

Description:

Watercrest is looking for a senior java developer who must have experience, particularly with architecture and “enterprise” problems.  It can be a developer with several years experience working on production-deployed systems. The candidate should be skilled in design, implementation and be familiar with all parts of the development cycle. They should be able to work with a BA and QA to resolve functional requirements issues. The person should also be experienced in designing systems and frameworks for use as a standard with an organization and have a proven record with a significant role in multiple successful projects in the past.

Requirements:

  • Should have thorough knowledge of Java, including many of the standard Java APIs
  • Should be familiar with JUnit, or at least some other unit test tool
  • Familiarity with other integration testing tools a plus
  • 8+ years of development experience with Java
  • 5+ years experience in a J2EE environment using JBoss, WebSphere, Java CAPS or WebLogic
  • 5+ years Java development experience with Servlets, JSP, XML, JavaScript,EJB, JMS, J2EE,junit,Eclipse

Perl Web Developer

Locations: Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax

Description:

Watercrest is looking for an outstanding Perl Web Developer who will play a major role in the development, maintenance, and deployment of the company’s many exciting web-based solutions in a Perl/Apache/Sybase environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read a feature specification and understand how to implement it.
  • Must be able to read a software requirement document and produce a technical specification.
  • Provide reliable time estimates for all development activities.
  • Provide frequent updates on the status of development activities.
  • Accurately track time per task
  • Code to company quality and programming standards
  • Proactively communicate when aware of potential quality issues.
  • Build testability into code (i.e. unit tests).
  • Make proper use of source code control, tickets, and other project tools.
  • Complete work according to provided software requirements or specification.

Senior Project Manager – Telecommunications

Description:

Watercrest is looking for senior project managers in the telecommunications industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and planning the project, then managing its execution, risk, issues, scope and communication according to those initiation plans. 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years proven telecommunications Field Project Management experience, with a minimum of 5 years' project management experience in GSM, CDMA, or UMTS Telecom Wireless industry.
  • Experienced in MS Project and process management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent people and customer management abilities. These include leadership, motivating, communicating effectively, listening, providing performance feedback and coaching.
  • Internationally recognized professional Project Management certification, such as PMP, is desirable.

Senior Project Manager – Software Industry

Requirements:

Designer, Customer Network Quality Assurance – Telecommunications

Locations: Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax

Description:

Watercrest is looking for an outstanding candidate who will be reviewing network quality reports and logs looking for ways to work within the OSS to improve service throughput and uptime, dealing with implementation teams for new tower turn-ups to trouble shoot poor throughput and network quality, and working remotely on the offending switches and equipment to fine tune configurations or recommend physical modifications to problem areas.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 to 7 years direct experience in the following areas:

  • New 2G and 3G wireless network turn up projects including new network conversion, or expansion projects.
  • A deep understanding of the standard/default configurations for wireless switches for maximum service quality
  • Experience working with change management, project management and 2G and 3G wireless tower technologies
  • Preferably some RF background
  • Involved in looking at drop rates, stats, reports, network quality reviews, and other report analysis to try to determine solutions to improving the network quality.  The candidate will open trouble tickets for H/w issues if required.
  • New site integration to an existing network
  • Performance monitoring and improvements in UMTS and GSM sites
  • Detailed knowledge of network management systems and operating systems
  • Previous experience with a major telco and/or direct involvement in building large wireless telecommunications networks
  • Exposure to project management concepts and methodologies

Network Technician – Telecommunications

Locations: Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax

Description:

Watercrest is looking for an outstanding candidate with experience with the Operation and maintenance of Mobile Telephone Switch Offices including: Ericsson Switching Platforms, Octel Voice Mail Systems, Glenarye Paging Terminals, Tellabs DACS, Fujitsu Fiber MUX’s, and digital microwave radio equipment.

Requirements:

  • Five to ten years experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SONET, OC-3, Ethernet, Microwave (frequency levels), GSM & GPRS Data Networks, and CDMA, TCP/IP protocols, Unix, Routers. 
  • Experience with hands on testing, audits, implementation/ installation, 2G/3G environments
  • Minimum five years experience in Cellular Radio, and Transmission preferably in a Mobile Switch Environment.
  • Technical diploma or degree,.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills  are essential.
  • Familiarity with GSM Cellular & GPRS data networks.
  • Maintenance and operation of DC Power Plant and diesel gensets.
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of work, and maintenance orders.

Sr. IT Systems Analyst

Description:

Watercrest is looking for an outstanding senior IT systems Analyst where the primary focus of this position is to analyze user requirements, IT and business processes/tools and lead associated project activities from initial analysis through to implementation for an Operational Readiness project.

Requirements:

  • Works hand-in-hand with various users / customers to identify user requirements, process integration/improvements, system functionality and creates solutions to address business/project objective. Exhibit strong business focus, understand business needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Participate in Analysis sessions to document requirements, solution and impacts following ITS standard processes.
  • Completion of the data gathering, analysis, and solutioning activities through the complete development life cycle from System Analysis to production implementation. Interface with all ITS departments on project activities/deliverables.
  • 4 to 6 years proven Systems / Business Analysis experience, with specific background in large billing systems development and implementation projects or other related large business applications.

Minimum 5 years in analysis role with proven accomplishment:

  • Expertise in UNIX, Window XP, Windows 2000 / 2003 platform.
    Solid understanding of database architecture (Oracle and Sybase).
    Java, J2EE, Servlet, Applet, JavaBeans, JDBC, ODBC environments.
    Oracle (BEA) suite of tools including Weblogic, Portal and Aqualogic.
    Good understanding of web server technology, and web based development projects.
